Pick Team Player Position College Height Weight
1 Team Image Miami Dolphins Chris Long DE Virginia 6-4 285
Chris Long is a perfect fit for the 3-4. Also the kind of player I could see Parcells take a liking to.
2 Team Image St. Louis Rams Glenn Dorsey DT LSU 6-2 300
This pick really depends on how much the Rams think Orlando Pace has left. If they don't think he has much this pick will be Long.
3 Team Image Oakland Raiders Jake Long T Michigan 6-7 305
They got their Franchise QB last year. It's time to get the Franchise LT to protect him. The Robert Gallery may make Raider fans weary about another OT this high. But I just don't see how Al could pass on Jake Long.
4 Team Image Kansas City Chiefs Sedric Ellis DT Southern California 6-1 295
Herm wanted Jake Long here, but with him off the board they opt for a DT. Not a bad consolation prize either.
5 Team Image Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan QB Boston College 6-5 225
Desperately need their Franchise Guy at QB. Darren McFadden may be an option but QB is more important than RB.
6 Team Image New York Jets Darren McFadden RB Arkansas 6-1 217
Draft the best Offensive weapon to team up with Thomas Jones, and help take some pressure of Kellen Clemens.
7 Team Image New England Patriots Leodis McKelvin CB Troy 5-11 190
Asante Samuel is more than likely gone. So they take the best CB prospect. Vernon Gholston DE/OLB would also be an option.
8 Team Image Baltimore Ravens Brian Brohm QB Louisville 6-3 232
The New Coaching staff is going to want to get its Franchise QB to build around.
9 Team Image Cincinnati Bengals Vernon Gholston DE Ohio State 6-4 260
Need defensive help take the best player available on that side of the ball.
10 Team Image New Orleans Saints Mike Jenkins CB South Florida 5-11 200
Need help opposite of Mike McKenzie who quietly had a nice year in 07.

11 Team Image Buffalo Bills Keith Rivers OLB Southern California 6-3 230
They need help on offense more specifically a big WR. But I don't see the Value here so they get a very talented LB to pair with Paul Posluzny.
12 Team Image Denver Broncos Ryan Clady T Boise State 6-5 320
The Broncos already had shaky O-line play last year and with Lepsis retiring that makes it worse. So they get their next franchise LT to protect Cutler.
13 Team Image Carolina Panthers Kenny Phillips FS Miami 6-1 202
Offensive line was also a possibility here but Safety is also a need and Kenny is the BPA so they take him.
14 Team Image Chicago Bears Chris Williams T Vanderbilt 6-6 315
This may surprise a few people but I think the NFL scout have Chris Williams rated a lot higher than most people think. He is a perfect fit for the bears who are need of O-line help.
15 Team Image Detroit Lions Dan Connor OLB Penn State 6-1 232
Get a stud MLB to place next to their young star Ernie Sims. Derrick Harvey is also a possibility here.
16 Team Image Arizona Cardinals Derrick Harvey DE Florida 6-4 252
The Cardinals have a pretty good young defense and Derrick Harvey will only add to that. He is a perfect fit as a 3-4 OLB.
17 Team Image Minnesota Vikings Reggie Smith FS Oklahoma 6-0 200
Darren Sharper is aging and Dwight Smith has off-field issues and he isn't that great on the field. So they get a playmaker to take over at FS.
18 Team Image Houston Texans DeSean Jackson WR California 5-11 165
This will be a surprise pick to many. But it was reported that the Texans wanted Ted Ginn last year. So this year they get a better more polished version of him. RB is a need but Kubiak is of the Shanahan Tree I think he waits.
19 Team Image Philadelphia Eagles Calais Campbell DE Miami 6-7 282
There is one trend the eagles have in round 1, they like to draft Lineman. Trent Cole is a stud, but Jevon Kearse is near the end. Calais Campbell is a Talented DE that should come in and lockdown the LDE spot.
20 Team Image Tampa Bay Buccaneers Malcolm Kelly WR Oklahoma 6-4 220
Need help alongside Old Man Galloway. Malcolm Kelly is a play maker who should develop into a True #1 WR.

21 Team Image Washington Redskins Jeff Otah T Pittsburgh 6-6 340
Jon Jansen is coming off injury and he is no spring chicken.
22 Team Image Dallas Cowboys Aqib Talib CB Kansas 6-1 180
The Cowboys Need CB help alongside Terrence Newman. Aquib Talib could go a lot higher if he times well at the combine.
23 Team Image Pittsburgh Steelers Gosder Cherilus T Boston College 6-6 320
Pittsburgh needs offensive line help. Gosder should come in and lockdown the RT spot for the next Decade.
24 Team Image Tennessee Titans Limas Sweed WR Texas 6-4 220
Vince young need all the help he can get. The Titans bring in a familiar face from Texas.
25 Team Image Seattle Seahawks Jonathan Stewart RB Oregon 5-10 235
Holmgren drafted Shaun Alexander in round 1 when he still had Ricky Waters. The Value here is hard to ignore so he does the same sort of thing.
26 Team Image Jacksonville Jaguars Phillip Merling DE Clemson 6-5 270
Need help at DE, Merling is rising up the draft boards and could end up going much higher than this.
27 Team Image San Diego Chargers Kentwan Bulmer DT North Carolina 6-5 300
Hard team to pick for not a lot of needs. Better depth at D-line is one so they get Balmer here another guy rising up the Draft boards quickly.
28 Team Image Dallas Cowboys Felix Jones RB Arkansas 6-0 200
Jerry Jones is said to want McFadden but the Boys have slim chance of moving up that far. So instead he gets the other Arkansas RB who will be the lighting to Marion the Barbarion's Thunder.
29 Team Image San Francisco 49ers Mario Manningham WR Michigan 5-11 180
This team needs WR in the worst way. Mario Manningham is a speedy, Big Play WR. He will be a good Fit for Mike Martz's Offense.
30 Team Image Green Bay Packers Dominque Rodgers CB Tennessee State 6-1 185
Al Harris and Charles Woodson are getting old. The packers get a very Talented CB who will play Nickel until Harris and Woodson are done. D.R.C. is rising and could go a lot higher than this.

*** This Draft Selection was Forfeit ***
32 Team Image New York Giants Sam Baker T Southern California 6-5 308
Sam Baker has some questions about his arm length so he will drop. But he is a good player and if available at #32 he will be a good pick for the giants. And will allow them to move Diehl back to LG.

  1. One of the better Cowboy drafts. Love Hawkins in the 3rd. I agree w/Jones at #28 also. Not in love w/2nd rd. pick, still think Watkins should get a chance. How about a DT here. Also wouldn't mind taking Devin Thomas in 2nd. Bowman and Thomas are my favorites. Please, say we don't take Talib. Not a fan at all, yet everyone seems to give him to us. I like Cromartie, McKelvin, Terrell Thomas, and Cason in that order.

  2. Talib is just my #3 CB at the moment thats really the only reason I gave him to the Cowboys, DRC is pushing for that spot though. Thanks for the comments

  4. I like the Rams pick other than Lawrence Jackson...nothing against Lawrence or the pick I actually like a DE there.. but there are better DEs on the board than Jackson.
    Good draft.

  5. Great Draft, Jones round1?. pats are not taking Mckelvin

    Posted by jdogvin1 | 02/11/2008 08:53 AM
  6. Great, but 1 pick I just can't see happening is McKelvin going at 7, or even in early to mid first round

  7. Decent Draft, but I guarantee the Raiders don't take Jake Long. their line surprisingly was not that bad in 07, but there run D was terrible. And with Sapp retiring they take Dorsey or Ellis, whichever one is available. They use their second round to try and give J. Russell a target as the WR class may not be great, but they are deep.
Also I don't see McFadden going past #3 Atlanta after his combine performance. Therefore Matt Ryan falls to Baltimore and Brohm to either Chicago or farther. Also Gholston is a beast and if he falls to Cincy then they are some lucky Mofo's, but I say they go to the Jets at 6. Check out my draft and let me know what you think, I published it yesterday Feb 24

  10. I like the Bears #1 pick, would switch Woodson for Flacco in 2, and Kevin Smith for Charles in 3, but besides that I think you nailed their needs
