2008 NFL Mock Draft

Pick Team Player Position College Height Weight
1 Team Image Miami Dolphins Jake Long T Michigan 6-7 305
I think that in order for the Dolphins to improve at all this year they will need to keep they're QB, whoever that may end up being, off his backside.
2 Team Image St. Louis Rams Glenn Dorsey DT LSU 6-2 300
I think that the Rams will take Dorsey here, so they can move Adam Carriker back to his natural end position.
3 Team Image Oakland Raiders Chris Long DE Virginia 6-4 285

4 Team Image Kansas City Chiefs Sedric Ellis DT Southern California 6-1 295

5 Team Image Atlanta Falcons Darren McFadden RB Arkansas 6-1 217
The Falcons need to take whoever they can to fill seats, McFadden could help with that.
6 Team Image New York Jets Vernon Gholston DE Ohio State 6-4 260

7 Team Image New England Patriots Keith Rivers OLB Southern California 6-3 230
Rivers makes the most sense for the Pats here, they could use some young talent in they're aging defense.
8 Team Image Baltimore Ravens Mike Jenkins CB South Florida 5-11 200

9 Team Image Cincinnati Bengals Derrick Harvey DE Florida 6-4 252
Cincinnati will take the best D Lineman left here.
10 Team Image New Orleans Saints Aqib Talib CB Kansas 6-1 180

12 Team Image Denver Broncos Kenny Phillips FS Miami 6-1 202
Denver gets a win here, they get the best FS in the draft, who can come in and sit and learn from John Lynch for a year or two before taking over the starting position.
13 Team Image Carolina Panthers Matt Ryan QB Boston College 6-5 225
The Panthers have Matt Ryan fall into their lap. Ryan can come in and probably start right off the back but has Vinny Testaverde there to be his mentor.
14 Team Image Chicago Bears Dan Connor OLB Penn State 6-1 232

15 Team Image Detroit Lions Sam Baker T Southern California 6-5 308

16 Team Image Arizona Cardinals Leodis McKelvin CB Troy 5-11 190

17 Team Image Minnesota Vikings Malcolm Kelly WR Oklahoma 6-4 220
Minnesota will benefit well from this pick, now Tavaris Jackson will have someone to throw to, and this should improve their 28th ranked passing game. This could make their passing game a complement to AP and their running.
18 Team Image Houston Texans Jeff Otah T Pittsburgh 6-6 340

19 Team Image Philadelphia Eagles DeSean Jackson WR California 5-11 165
Philly gets lucky, getting in my opinion the top WR in this draft class, who is way under rated.
20 Team Image Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mario Manningham WR Michigan 5-11 180

21 Team Image Washington Redskins Calais Campbell DE Miami 6-7 282

22 Team Image Dallas Cowboys Rashard Mendenhall RB Illinois 5-11 225
The Cowboys will more than likely lose either Marion Barber or Julius Jones to Free Agency, and will need a replacement back, i think mendenhall is an upgrade from jones.

24 Team Image Tennessee Titans Limas Sweed WR Texas 6-4 220
Vince Young finally gets a receiver he has so longly needed. Who better for him to get than somebody he was throwing to in college, the chemistry will already be there, and VY will finally get the respect he deserves as a passer in '08.
25 Team Image Seattle Seahawks Fred Davis TE Southern California 6-4 250

  5. Ryan to the Panthers? Seriously?

Jesus Christ, don't bother doing any research. The Panthers don't need or want a QB, especially in the first round, or on the first day.

Vinny Testeverde announced his retirement and won't be in Carolina to mentor anyone. Awesome job...no really...
