I think that if your counting on the FA pickups to boost the 49ers, you're sorely mistaken. Sure, Clements is a certified beast, but Michal Lewis is definitely not the answer at safety. He lost his job to Sean Considine, a nobody who is slower than Lawyer Milloy. As far as linebacker, Tully Banta-Cain couldn't really do much with the Patriots, and he is a hard worker, so his lack of talent got him shipped out of town. If you play for Belicheck, and get shipped out of town for lack of talent, but your still a hard worker, that's sad. On offense, Ashley Lelie is not a number one receiver. I think at best, he could play a Keary Colbert role to Steve Smith. You know, the official #2 receiver, but still only getting 17 catches a year. I still think there OL situation leaves a lot to be desired, as well.

Seahawks will win it IMO. Shaun Alexander was injured for 3-4 games during the season. That killed them. He will be healthy and the Seahwaks will too.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. The Seahawks are in the best position to win the division. I would like to see the Cards compete, but I think their offensive line is still a year or two away, unless they get Joe Thomas.

One quick thing- on the main page, it says the Arizona Cardinals, the Seattle Seahawks, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the San Fransisco 49er's.

What's wrong with that statement? But if those are the teams that management meant to put in there, I pick the Cardinals.

The only way the Cardinals will win the NFC West is if they get Joe Thomas, another good free agent lineman, and steal a bunch of defensive talent in the draft. I think their time to shine is in '08. By then, Wisenhunt will have the free agents and rookies in place to make a run.

Upon further review after the draft, I see the Cards actually competing this year. I think that Levi Brown was a reach to some degree at 5, but at the same time, he'll man the left tackle spot, and that is not Lienhart's blind spot- he's left handed. I think that the Cards have a shot at doing something significant this year, and maybe make the playoffs, but it all depends how well the Seahawks can bounce back and how well the 49ers o-line gels.

Well as long as the media doesn't pick the Cardinals as their 'sleeper' team again this year...they may have a chance. The seem to have fallen completely apart the last few years despite plenty of pre-season hype.

I believe that Peter King picked the Dolphins to be the sleeper team last season, and look how they turned out. I really want the Cardinals and 49er's to do good this year, if for any other reason than to just leave the Lions and Raiders at the bottom by themselves. I can't see how the Raiders are gonna do any better this year. I actually think the thing that keeps the Raiders from succeeding would have to be Al Davis. Until they get him away from the football operations, this team isn't going anywhere.
