Positives

As far as physical gifts go, Jarrett is as talented as any receiver in the country. Since his freshman year, he has looked like a man among boys, instantly becoming one of the marquee receivers in college football. His height and length are prototypical, making him an ideal target in the red zone. With his big body, he's able to effectively shield defenders and establish inside position. As a long-strider, he has the deep speed to stretch an N.F.L. defense. He's been indefensible at times, frequently beating double teams throughout his career. Through three years, he's put up numbers most four-year starters can only dream of. It is intriguing that he has made some good college corners, like Leon Hall, look silly. He's also made some highlight-reel plays and flashes the ability to make the acrobatic catch.

Negatives

Though he has great size, he doesn't use it to his advantage enough. He is very weak and gets pushed around by more physical corners, like Arizona's Antoine Cason, who basically dominated him in their 2006 match-up. While he has good straight line speed, he lacks exceptional quickness or agility. It is discouraging that his route-running skills, in terms of both effort and execution, appear to be lacking. He sometimes has 'alligator arms' going over the middle and doesn't like to take a hit. His production fell off dramatically in his junior year, which could be attributed to working with a new Quarterback. He also appears to lose focus at times, either running the wrong route or not anticipating a throw. He has displayed a cocky attitude throughout his career, taunting defenders and frequently displaying frustration.
