Positives
The preseason All-American lived up to the hype in his senior year, posting 14.5 sacks. Adams is a tremendous edge rusher with excellent burst. His first step is so explosive, he makes Offensive Tackles look silly. He is extremely athletic and could project nicely as an Outside Linebacker in a 3-4 defense. He has impressive linear speed for a down lineman. Adams also possesses a big frame and appears to be able to add more bulk. As Clemson's all-time leading sacker, he was extremely productive throughout college. As a senior, he continued to produce despite facing consistent double teams.
Negatives
In order to be an every-down Defensive End, Adams will have to get stronger and add weight. He gets wired in blocks too often and must improve playing the run to avoid being a one dimensional player. At times, his aggression hurts him as it causes him to over-pursue and take himself out of plays. Because he hasn't shown the ability to play standing up, he's somewhat of a risk as an Outside Linebacker. Inexplicably, Adams was sometimes pulled from games in important situations, leading to questions about his endurance.
